Splitting hairs

Finally tried styling K's hair this morning.

I obviously need a little help. I see all these little girls--girls even younger than K--with darling ponytails and pigtails and half-up hairdos. How? HOW??? I can't even put a straight line down the back of my daughter's head, let alone get it in the center, let alone style it. Is there some correspondence course they're all part of? Or am I just the least capable girl-mom on the planet?

It's a correspondence course.

But she's so cute!

It is IMPOSSIBLE!!! I think that you have done a great job... much better she runs around and enjoys herself. (At least that's what I'm telling myself as J's hair is impossible too!!)

I think it takes years of practice and patience from both participants. But she always looks cute, crazy hair or not!

Thanks for the reassurance. It certainly doesn't help that she has no interest in having her hair in any semblance of order. But give me a little time and I'll wear her down...

You'll get the hang of it. I felt the same way, still do some days. Plus you need the right tools - we'll have to talk about it next time we see each other.
